A late goal by Pau Ka-yiu gave Eastern an AFC Cup lifeline after a thrilling 3-3 draw against Kedah of Malaysia in group E at Mong Kok Stadium 
Eastern still have a slim chance of advancing to the knock-out stage after this result. Both teams sit on four points with two matches left, but Kedah stay in second place of the four-team group as they have a better head-to-head record.
Chonburi of Thailand stayed clear at the top of the group with four straight wins after thrashing ACB Hanoi of Vietnam 6-0 last night.
In group F, South China maintained their 100 per cent winning record when they cruised to a 4-1 win over home team Johor FC in the southern Malaysia city last night.
Brazilian striker Caca scored twice against the Malaysians, while Tales Schutz and Chan Chi-hong were also on target.
The Caroliners are still competing with second place Medan of Indonesia for the top spot in the group. 
The Indonesians sit on nine points after their 2-1 win at V.B. of the Maldives.

The visitors then went ahead again when Zamri, who won the MVP, scored his second in the 86th minute after a quick free kick. 
And it was a disaster for Eastern as clueless defenders So Wai-chuen and Yang Xu left their positions in the wall to ask the bench for water when the free kick was taken.
 However, Pau got his two mates out of jail when the defender hit the equaliser in stoppage time following a goalmouth melee after a corner.
