Computer worker a scapegoat in Edison Chen scandal, court told
The computer technician accused of dishonestly obtaining hundreds of pictures featuring singer-actor Edison Chen Koon-hei performing sex acts with a string of female stars has been made a scapegoat, his defence counsel has claimed.
Defence barrister Kelvin Lai Kin-wah argued in his final submission to Kwun Tong Court that his client, Sze Ho-chun, 24, an employee of Elite Multimedia in Central, where Chen had taken his laptop for repairs in mid-2006, was a victim.
He said two female staff of a home appliances company, Sze's two colleagues and his boss - all of whom had seen or had knowledge of the sex pictures - had been playing down their role and made up stories in order to avoid suspicion.
Mr Lai said there were contradictions in the testimony given by the two female graphic designers working for the home appliance company, to whom Sze allegedly showed the pictures. He allegedly then copied them onto a compact disc, which he gave to one of the women.
As in previous hearings, one of the graphic designers, Fanny Choi Yuk-fan, said she had asked Sze to show her pictures, which Sze said his colleague had discovered in 'locked' files, showing Chen with Gillian Chung Yang-tung, of the Twins duo.
Ms Choi said she had seen more than 100 pictures and felt embarrassed at the time.
