Man admits trying to dupe his mother

A man was jailed for six months yesterday for cheating his mother out of HK$31,300 by calling her and posing as a probation officer who needed the money to look after her son. Kwong Siu-kwan, 25, earlier pleaded guilty to one count of obtaining property by deception. The court heard that Kwong made 17 calls to his mother asking for money during autumn.
