Summer is a great time to pick out a new scent. Floral or fruity scents bring out your natural sweetness, while woody scents create a cool yet feminine vibe. All available from Sasa La Perla J'aime Les Fleurs (HK$288/30ml) The name means 'I love flowers'. It seems La Perla has collected the most feminine flowers for this scent. The top notes include freesia, grapefruit and apple, all enriched by base notes of sandalwood and musk. The fruity, floral scent is not too sweet but tends to disappear after an hour or so, making it necessary to reapply frequently. Unfortunately, this particularly bulky bottle is not built for handbags. Borsalino Pour Elle (HK$488/50ml) If you don't want a very sweet perfume, go for this one. This is far from being a sweet, candy-like smell, yet it's still refreshing and summery, light yet long-lasting. Pick it if you want to stand out from the floral gals. Salvador Dali Itislove (HK$420/50ml) Classified as a 'floriental' scent, this is a sultry blend of citrus fruit, iris and musky, woody notes. The kitschy bottle is a fun addition to any shelf. Unfortunately, the scent fades within a couple of hours, just as it really starts to come into its own. Paris Hilton Fairy Dust (HK$399/50ml) The bottle is simple, with a pixie echoing the name of Hilton's new fragrance. The top note is peony and orange blossom, at its heart is peach nectar and water lily and the rich and stronger scent of cashmere musk and vanilla come in as the base. It's long-lasting, and will give you a curious urge to wear pink and say 'That's hot' ... Elizabeth Arden Red Door Shimmer (HK$315/50ml) A mix of soft fruity and floral notes: pear, pepper, lilies, sandalwood and musk. The musk and lily scents are particularly strong at first, but the fragrance fades for too quickly for the price.
