Freed mother and son on new theft charges

Wong Hau-wan, 54, and her son, Hui Ka-chun, 36, who were released from prison last month after serving a sentence for shoplifting, pleaded guilty yesterday in Kwun Tong Court to two counts of theft. Co-defendant Chu Kam-wing, 28, Wong's daughter-in-law, admitted handling stolen goods. The family stole condoms, milk powder and pills from a Mannings store last year. Sentencing was adjourned to May 22.
