Conrado Engel Chief executive and president HSBC Bank Brazil
Based in Hong Kong, Mr Engel is the regional director personal financial services, Asia-Pacific of The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation. He has held this position since January 2007, and was appointed a group general manager in May 2008. Previously, Mr Engel was executive director of HSBC Bank Brazil from 2004 to 2006. Before joining HSBC, he held several senior positions in the financial services industry in Brazil and has extensive experience in credit cards and consumer finance. He holds a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the Aeronautical Technological Institute. He moves into this new role on June 1.
Louisa Cheang Regional director, personal financial services, Asia-Pacific HSBC
Ms Cheang will take up this role from June 1. She is now head of personal financial services Hong Kong, a position she has held since July 2007. Previously she was head of marketing for HSBC in Asia-Pacific and before that, head of marketing for HSBC in Hong Kong. She joined HSBC in 1999 as senior manager credit card product development for Hong Kong and was appointed senior manager of product and marketing for Hong Kong in 2000. Before joining HSBC, she held senior positions in marketing for several large corporations in the finance and telecommunications industries. Ms Cheang graduated from the University of Hong Kong.
Francesca McDonagh Head, personal financial services Hong Kong HSBC
Ms McDonagh will take up her new role on July 1. She is now head of personal financial services Panama, a position she has held since January 2007. She is responsible for the overall retail banking strategy in Panama following HSBC's acquisition of Grupo Banistmo in 2006. Before this, she was director of premier at HSBC Mexico and senior vice-president of personal banking in Indonesia. She joined HSBC in 1997. She has also worked in Egypt and Britain in corporate finance and personal banking. She holds a bachelor of administration (honour's) from the University of Oxford in philosophy, politics and economics.
Simon Vaughan Johnson Regional head, commercial banking for the Middle East HSBC
