Who created it? Hong Kong-based jewellery brand Calamansi Bijoux was founded in 2005 by sisters Caroline Caer and Agnes Caer-Piras. Caroline grew up in Africa and the Middle East and trained as a graphic designer. After working in design, publishing and printing in Britain and France, she moved to Asia and is now based in South Korea. Agnes comes from a law background and has worked in sales and marketing. Caroline designs the jewellery while Agnes gives her creative input while overseeing sales and marketing. The line is available in London, Japan, New York and Hawaii and has been spotted on local model Lisa S.

Why we love it: with so much jewellery available, Calamansi Bijoux's pieces stand out because they are versatile and easy to wear. Using semiprecious stones and freshwater pearls set in silver, the designs are modern yet timeless. The stones aren't perfect but chosen for their colour and shape, adding an organic feel to the collection. Recently, the sisters unveiled an 18K gold-plated collection, with aquamarine, fluorite, new jade, yellow citrine and amethyst. Items include sautoirs, necklaces, bracelets, earrings and the signature 'chichi' rings with a cluster of stones or pearls.

What we'd pick: the multistrand Charmi necklace (left, HK$4,800) featuring aquamarine, fluorite, amazonite and freshwater pearls, which can be worn long or short. The Mouni earrings (far left, HK$3,400) stand out, with green garnet and serpentine, while the Longui pearl earrings (HK$1,600) are classic.
