Fanling Government Secondary School
Fanling Government Secondary School (FGSS) held its Open Day on April 24 and 25.
The school was colourfully decorated for this special event.
Students displayed their exhibits and prepared games for the visitors in the hall, covered playground and special rooms. Performers showed their talents in solo verse-speaking, dancing, magic tricks, and Chinese musical instruments.
 The audience was impressed with the performances.
 One of the participants said she was proud to perform for her school. In fact, everyone tried their best to put on a wonderful show. There was great teamwork and it was a good experience for all the student volunteers.
After the performances, the guests ate delicious  snacks, such as chocolate cake and cookies, prepared by the students. 
They provided the recipes to the guests and showed them how it is done.
I was a student volunteer for the design and technology subject, and the Learning Zone was one of our projects. It was packed with innovative and interesting displays. These included handmade products, such as yo-yos, music boxes and electrical fighting robots. 
The mood of the school's Open Day was summed up  by one of the visitors: 'This event highlighted the potential and creativity of the students at FGSS. The  atmosphere was so friendly and I enjoyed the show.'

Kowloon True Light Middle School
Kowloon True Light Middle School celebrated its 60th anniversary on May 2. Our school moved from Guangzhou to Hong Kong in 1949.
The first True Light school was established in Guangzhou by Harriet Noyes,  an American missionary, in 1872. The first True Light school in Hong Kong was set up in 1935. 
Later, three more True Light schools were established in Hong Kong, with the joint motto of 'Thou Art the Light of the World'.
Our school's celebrations began with an energetic welcoming performance by the cheering team. Principals from other True Light schools and colleges and students from Chengtai True Light School in Guangzhou were invited to take part in the festivities. 
Former students and teachers of our school also attended the ceremony.
 The most exciting part of the programme was the variety show. The choir sang All Things Bright and Beautiful and there was a short drama about the consequences of blindly following trends. 
These performances were followed by jazz dancers and the orchestra, who played a wonderful piece - the Austrian Peasant Dance   - composed by Gustav Mahler.  
Our mainland students also gave an excellent performance in the playground, even though they looked a little nervous before the show.
 I'm sure  Kowloon True Light Middle School will keep on shining for many years to come.

CCC Kei San Secondary School
Members of CCC Kei San Secondary School's Parent-Teacher Association showed their support and respect to teachers during morning assembly recently.
Students looked on in amazement as parents presented each teacher with ginseng candies and lovely handmade flowers. 
The teachers were praised for their devotion to the welfare of their students and for providing an all-round education.
