What looked like a day that might turn the battle for the trainers' championship didn't quite work out that way, but trainer John Size was able to turn the screws a little on leader John Moore when revamped Fast Winner took the Class Five sprint. A long-term maiden when he arrived at Size's yard, Fast Winner has now won twice over the Sha Tin 1,200m in similar fashion - leading against the fence throughout. 'John has certainly got him going well and he just travelled like the winner all the way today,' said Whyte, who also had a light day with the lone winner. 'He had the speed to go to the rail like he did the last time he won and there was no way I was going to give that fence up once he found it. It does seem to be important to him and he goes straighter when he has it.' The Dream Team of Size and Whyte had a frustrating afternoon with Hussler, Brilliant Chapter and Special Days all settling for minor placings.
