Patten's the cocktail pick

HONG Kong Sevens tickets are not the hottest items in town. That dubious honour goes to invitations to the Governor's Sevens reception this evening.

Chris Patten intends to host a little soiree at Government House.

''Once word passed around that the Governor was holding a reception again this year a lot of people asked if they could be invited. Everybody, it seems, wants to shake Patten's hand,'' a Union official said.
