Hong Kong Property catches 'best job in the world' bug

Inspired by the recent Tourism Queensland campaign inviting applicants for 'the best job in the world', Hong Kong Property Services (Agency) splashed out on a double-page advertisement in the newspapers yesterday to recruit a company spokesman.

Candidates were asked to demonstrate how good their communications skills are by uploading a 60-second video clip of themselves to the job application website.

As a come-on, the advert says the eventual winner will have the chance of being promoted to the firm's management after the first 12 months and earning HK$1 million a year. It even says the recruit can go on to earn HK$10 million a year by going right to the top.

However, the advert does not actually state how much the job pays in that first year.

We asked chief executive Richard Lee Chi-shing, but all he would say was that the company would pay according to the applicant's qualifications. He said the company was looking for someone to appear in an upcoming television advertising campaign.
