Lest you think Lan Kwai Fong's Bar George joined the list of places headed for demise, the gastro-pub is now back in business. After a two-week facelift, the Epicurean Group/Ninetysevengroup watering hole is open again at 38 D'Aguilar Street for a pint and a pie. In other food and beverage-related happenings, David Izquierdo Jover, executive chef of tapas bar Uno Mas, will need to get some rest after keeping his place open all night on Wednesday for the Champions League final between Barcelona and Manchester United (Barca won, no doubt keeping a few fans up even longer). That's because he and Ricky Cheung Kam-cheung (pictured) - who briefly ran his own tapas place, El Mundo - will join forces to prepare a traditional Valencia-style Sunday paella (or seafood rice) at Cheung's private kitchen, Le Mieux Bistro in Chai Wan. The Spanish Chamber of Commerce is organising the lunch at 1pm on Sunday. Only 30 places are available so interested parties should contact the chamber now to book a place. The cost is HK$666 plus service charge and includes wine. The address is 18 Ka Yip Street, Siu Sai Wan. Call 2558 2877.
