Price right Ultra-light, thin laptops are all the rage but most are pricey; Apple's MacBook Air, for example, starts at HK$13,900. An exception is Taiwan-based Micro-Star International's X-Slim X320 (below), which sells for HK$5,680. With a design that resembles that of the MacBook Air, the X320 is a full-featured notebook computer that weighs only 1.3kg with its battery and is 1.98cm thick. The notebook runs Intel's Atom Z530 processor and comes with Microsoft's Windows Vista operating system. It has a LED-backlit 13.4 inch widescreen display, 2 gigabytes of system memory, a Wi-fi connection, a 1.3-megapixel webcam, two speakers and an up to 500GB hard disk drive. Print out Canon's Selphy CP770 portable colour photo printer (below) can run off a 4R-sized borderless picture in 52 seconds. Its all-in-one design includes a 2.5-inch colour monitor and bucket space to store an ample amount of photo paper, an ink cassette and power adaptor. The machine's dye-sublimation printing process puts a protective film on each print, making it water, dust and fingerprint resistant. It can operate on a rechargeable battery for outdoor use. It also has editing software with preset photo frames and clip art. The Selphy CP770 sells for HK$1,380 at Fortress. Capture every moment The AgfaPhoto DV-5580Z camcorder (above) offers video, still photography and sound recording in a compact format. Its adjustable, swivelling 2.5-inch display makes it suitable for a range of tasks. It has a 5x optical zoom, takes still images at 8-megapixel resolution and shoots video in high definition at 30 frames per second. It weighs 162 grams and measures 40.8mm by 121mm by 58.5mm. Available at Fortress, the DV-5580Z is priced at HK$1,880.
