A 16-YEAR-OLD Hong Kong victim of Wednesday's Aeroflot crash was allowed to leave school 24 hours early to catch the flight, it was revealed yesterday.

Kenneth Ho, a student at Queen's College in Taunton, western England, was flying home to spend the Easter holiday with his family.

Christopher Bradnock, the school's headmaster, said Kenneth was allowed to leave school a day before 12 friends, who took a different route home when term ended on Wednesday.

Mr Bradnock described Kenneth as an enthusiastic and delightful student.

''Ken was popular with his fellow pupils and his teachers. He was a keen games player, representing his school at badminton, rugby and swimming,'' he said.

Kenneth had attended the school since September 1991.
