Everyone knows location is crucial when buying property, and in a large city such as London, good transport links are essential to make the journey between home and work as easy as possible.
Forest Hill in Southeast London may not be well known to overseas investors, but a new rail line, and Forest Hills' proximity to desirable neighbourhoods such as Dulwich, is likely to see the area gain popularity.
The East London line extension is part of the Transport for London investment programme, which is constructing an orbital rail link around the capital. On completion next year, the extension will connect the overground Forest Hill station to the Underground Tube network, bringing many parts of the capital closer to the district.
Peter Murray, a partner at property agency King Sturge, said the extension would further benefit the accessibility of the location, 'which already benefits from strong infrastructure from Forest Hill station to London Bridge in just 11 minutes and Gatwick Airport in 31 minutes'.
The East London line will also connect with the Jubilee line, giving residents quick access to the West End and Canary Wharf. Mr Murray said the new rail extension would benefit the immediate location 'enormously'.
City Walk is a new building development in Forest Hill, an urban village which is located on one of the highest points in the capital with views across to Central London, Canary Wharf and St Paul's. The small development will have just 52 apartments of one and two bedrooms and penthouses, designed as a sustainable development.
