Don't be put off by the clunky promotional push that bills this as the 'first Hollywood film about rugby'. There's no butchering of the game by people who don't know what they're on about.

That rugby forms the film's focus is a nice touch, if you're a fan, but essentially Forever Strong could be about any sport. And that's both a pro and a con.

Director Ryan Little has at his disposal a script that holds no real surprises. It's all about a troubled soul (Sean Faris, above left) who is given a shot at redemption; a small team taking on a powerhouse, and facing up to the realities of life.
