Have you ever wondered whether one day men and women will switch roles? 
People always say men should respect women, or else they will not be thought of as 'gentlemen'. But women are much more capable these days and men need to be able to keep up with them.
It seems being a man is very difficult in modern times. Men really need to learn to help out more at home, as women are breadwinners too.

Thanks for your letter, Tsz-him. Hong Kong is such a cosmopolitan society that there are bound to be conflicting views on what men should be doing in the way of household chores.
In some societies, men's roles are clearly defined - they go out and hunt  for food. Women stay at home and raise children. But in modern cities these roles have become blurred as money and individual choice  are considered more important.
This has meant that women are no longer necessarily financially dependent on men and in some cases have no choice but to work outside the home.
Some people believe this can have an adverse effect on  children. It would be interesting to hear what other readers think.
It is tough for working mums to come home, organise dinner, see to her children's homework, put them to bed, wash the dishes, clean the flat and do the laundry. 
With the long hours people work in the city, a cheery helping hand can make all the difference. But helping around the home shouldn't only be Mum and Dad's realm. Children need to do chores too as this builds their sense of responsibility and is an important factor in growing up and developing leadership skills.
