Obsession: Tambour Mysterieuse
Louis Vuitton has stepped up its game in the watch world by creating a timepiece inspired by 19th-century magician Jean-Eugene Robert-Houdin. You may be wondering where the magic comes in, but all is revealed when you see the watch. The first style to be made entirely by hand at the brand's workshops in Switzerland, the hands on the watch appear to be floating in mid-air as they move around transparent sapphire discs. There are three models to choose from: no diamonds, semi-paved with diamonds or paved fully with diamonds. Customers also have the option of choosing from platinum, pink and yellow gold settings, as well as straps made from stingray, snakeskin, alligator, ostrich or platinum.
For the ultimate in personalisation, other additional features include monogramming or the addition of semi-precious stones such rubies and sapphires. Of course, luxury comes at a price. The watches start at Euro20,000 (HK$218,000) and you can expect to wait a year for your timepiece to be finished.
