Stop reading if you've yet to watch the first instalment of 20th Century Boys - you'll only get confused.
This very tricky but brilliantly written story should not be missed. Unlike the Dragon Ball or Naruto films, which have been popular mostly with manga lovers, 20th Century Boys Chapter 2 has a stunning plot that will amaze all sorts of people.
The story continues after the massacre of New Year's Eve, 2000. The enigmatic Friend claimed responsibility for saving survivors and has become a national hero. By 2015, Kanna (Airi Taira), niece of Kenji (Toshiaki Karasawa) - the protagonist in the previous chapter who fought against Friend's 'predictions' - is a teenager and following in her uncle's footsteps to find the truth.
As the film progresses, more of Friend's conspiracy is unveiled, and the audience gets ever closer to discovering his true identity. The action scenes are even more thrilling than in the first film. And the cast all look and act so much like their manga counterparts, they could have been born to play the roles.
Make sure you wait for the trailer of the third film which plays after the credits. Then learn to be patient - the final episode isn't due out until later in the year.
