Grub: Sapporo-style ramen - Japanese noodles in miso soup. They also offer ramen in different soups, rice and other small dishes. 
Lunch and dinner sets are available for incredibly reasonable prices. 
The portions are generous enough to satisfy all but the biggest appetites.
Vibe: Small and cosy, it looks a bit like the ramen shops you see in Japanese TV dramas. The kitchen is open, and customers can sit at the high bar around it and watch their food being cooked. 
Located in the heart of TST, it's popular with the young and funky, and often buzzing with lots of shoppers.
Who to bring: Small groups of friends - there's not a lot of room - shopping buddies who need to recharge after hitting the malls or hungry guys.  
What's hot: The signature Sapporo ramen in miso soup is the highlight, but during the hot, humid weather, try the Hiyashi Chuka, or chilled ramen. 
The best thing about this restaurant's version is that the bowl is pre-chilled, keeping the noodles cool and fresh throughout your meal. 
The noodles come topped with two slices of char siu, cucumbers strips, crab sticks, marinated jellyfish, tomatoes and lettuce, with Japanese seasoning. 
The refreshing flavours make this a perfect summer dish. This is probably the best Hiyashi Chuka in town, so be sure to give it a shot. Ideally, the cucumber strips would be thinner and the lettuce pieces smaller, but these are small issues with an otherwise delicious meal. 
The gyoza are another highlight; the ones with shrimp are particularly tasty.
What's not: The restaurant can get stuffy when it gets full, and its compactness means long queues are common. 
The miso is far and away the best soup base - unfortunately the others are just not up to par.
Although there are other branches around the city, standards fluctuate - the TST branch is the most consistent.
Cost: A dinner set for two costs HK$188, but it's really enough for three. Ramen noodles start at HK$48, and Hiyashi Chuka costs HK$82. Expect to spend around HK$100 and to end up feeling full.
