Holidays bring a sporting chance

1-MIN READ1-MIN

As the summer holidays could start earlier due to the swine flu outbreak, now is the time to plan your summer sports classes.

Olympic sprinter Lai Chun-ho and Hong Kong 200 metres record holder Tang Yik-chun were both discovered during summer athletics courses.

'The summer course I took a few years ago really ignited my passion in running. I didn't get interested in sprinting until I started the class,' said Lai.

Athletics clubs are offering summer courses for people who are interested in track and field. This year is the 20th anniversary of Watsons Athletic Club, which Lai represents. The club has invited lots of experienced coaches to host its summer classes. If you would like to train with the stars, visit http://wac.aswatson.com. The deadline is July 3.

If you are not into sports on land, you might like to try sailing on the open sea. The Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club (RHKYC) is offering summer training courses for different age groups.
