Hong Kong off to a flying start

Favourites Hong Kong dropped just one game in 10 matches on the opening day of the Pre-East Asian Games Championships. The home team brushed aside China and Taiwan, scoring two straight 5-0 matches at Hong Kong Squash Centre yesterday. Only Dick Lau Siu-wai needed four games, to beat Huang Cheng-yap of Taiwan. In the other matches of the six-team competition, Japan beat South Korea and Taiwan, both 4-1. Macau lost both of their matches to South Korea (5-0) and China (4-1). Hong Kong will meet Macau and Japan today.
