A group of young modern dancers will perform Real Showcase Series (Angels at Work) at the City Contemporary Dance Company's (CCDC) Jockey Club Dance Theatre in Wong Tai Sin from July 3-5.
The Real Showcase Series is run by the CCDC Dance Centre. It aims to nurture local dance groups and individuals by helping them to present innovative dance shows, and provide them with rehearsal venues, and technical and administrative support.
Under the guidance of award-winning dancer and choreographer Andy Wong Ting-lam, a group of more than 10 dancers called Dancing Angels will integrate their real-life working experiences into their dance interpretations next month.
The dancers all have full-time jobs.
Wong said the concept of integrating their work experiences into the performance came from casual chats after dance practice.
'We often talk about the unhappiness of our jobs. We dance to release the pressure of our work, and hence, we would like to stage this performance, and inspire the audience to release their stress through their own interests,' he added.
