Three magical Lego worlds come to life in the new Lego Battles video game, which will have you playing for hours and draining your Nintendo DS batteries dry. Gamers are offered three popular Lego themes: Lego Space, Lego Castle and Lego Pirates.
This is the latest Lego game from developer Traveller's Tales, which also made previous Lego games such as Lego Batman, Indiana Jones and Star Wars. Lego Battles is a real-time strategy game and is the first game in the franchise that has not been a 3D platformer like the previous games.
Game play is exactly like that of Blizzard Entertainment's World of Warcraft 2, in which gamers have to build bases, farms, mines, barracks and shipyards that allow them to produce soldiers, vehicles and an assortment of other Lego materials to help fight the enemy.
In total there are 55 playable characters and 30 vehicles to help gamers carry out their battles, on land, sea and in the air.
The story mode features six distinct story lines with 90 different levels to complete and each level is chock-a-block with hidden goodies. At the outset, it is only possible to play as the hero in one of the three Lego worlds, but after completing a certain number of levels, gamers win the option of playing as the villains and seeing the story from their side.
Players can also challenge friends in multiplayer mode in 30 different maps through wireless DS multi-card play.
