After topping the league in the regular season, Winling manager Lam Chik-cheong has urged his side to go all the way and beat defending champions South China when the AI Division finals series begins tonight at Southorn Stadium. 'We are ready to take the title back from South China,' Lam said. 'We have gone through a four-day training camp in Seoul and the players are mentally and physically fit.' Winling, who beat the Caroliners 88-60 in the regular season, were champions in 2006 and 2007 before losing to South China last year. Both teams feature key Hong Kong national players. The series will be decided by a best-of-five format.
