My wish would be for more big-name bands to play concerts in Hong Kong. My friends who have lived in other cities in the world have seen many more bands than me. So few come here to play. I wish more bands would put Hong Kong on their tour list - and at prices we can afford. Bryony Taylor, writer The economic downturn, swine flu, drug problems. For the past year Hongkongers have been living in a very negative environment. History shows us, though, that things eventually get better so I hope Hong Kong people can have confidence in the future and wait for the situation to improve. I hope they stop worrying about the stock market and making money and care more about the community. A simple life is enjoyable while a materialistic lifestyle will never satisfy us. Wong Yat-hei, reporter I wish Hong Kong could do something about environmental issues that confront us today. We can improve air quality by reducing our greenhouse gas emissions, and we should work to clean our waters and beaches of sewage and pollution. Also, land reclamation must stop. Enough of our harbour has disappeared for development over the years. We need to work together to preserve, protect and defend what is inherently the heart of this city we love. Kalon Tsang, YP intern Hong Kong is such a busy and tense city. Everyone is under great pressure and is rushing about. I hope Hongkongers can slow down a little and take some time out to appreciate the city we all call home. I also wish the government and the public would do more to protect Hong Kong's environment, and show the world that this is not only a place for business, but is also a nice city to live. Rebecca Tsui, reporter My wish for Hong Kong would be for the spread and growth of art and culture in the community. I would like to see more appreciation of and interest in the arts by young people. Individuals, the government, and communities could all work together to promote the creativity and imagination that I'm sure Hongkongers have. Nicholas Lo, YP intern There are too many things to wish for but top of my list is that every Hongkonger stays strong to fight the swine flu and uses their energy to boost the economy. I also wish that every Hongkonger will have a job by the end of the year. In addition, I would like to see clear blue skies every day when I wake up. Zoe Mak, reporter
