Always Something could not have made a better impression in landing two wins from as many starts and he should have little trouble in lifting the middle leg of tomorrow afternoon's Triple Trio at Sha Tin.

With the opening TT pool kicking off at HK$5 million, the main prize on offer is expected to reach HK$11 million and, after coming up with an inside alley, Always Something looks a standout banker in a race light on genuine winning chances.

The John Size-trained gelding made his debut at Happy Valley on June 3 and lengthened well when in the clear to gun down Super Plus and Century Super Star, who both strengthened the form by winning their next assignments.

He took a rise in class and a drop in distance three weeks later and was even more impressive in showing a rare brand of finishing speed to quickly have the race in his keeping, foiling a plunge on promising Young Label.

The three-year-old rises eight pounds for the victory, but looks better suited returning to 1,200m and should appreciate the bigger Sha Tin circuit.

He should camp in an ideal spot on the back of the speed under Douglas Whyte and stamp his authority on the event early in the straight.
