The hearing to decide who will inherit Nina Wang Kung Yu-sum's vast fortune will enter its final stage with the hearing of evidence from two fung shui experts today. On the 38th day of the hearing in the Court of First Instance, Joseph Yu and Szeto Fat-Ching are expected to be the last witnesses called. They have been called to assist the judge on issues such as whether Wang had a genuine belief in fung shui and matters concerning 'planting a new base' - a fung shui practice which is said to help prolong one's life. The late billionaire's foundation has alleged that the 2006 will which purported to leave Tony Chan Chun-chuen her entire fortune was only a 'fung shui will' - part of a fung shui ritual aimed at bringing good health. After the pair's closing testimony, lawyers from both sides will make their final submissions on September 21 and a judgment could be handed down about six months thereafter. In the event of a judgment for either party, an appeal by the losing party could be made at the Court of Appeal, and possibly a further appeal to the Court of Final Appeal.
