Island hopping

Air Pacific, the national carrier of the Fiji Islands, will begin direct flights to Hong Kong twice weekly from December 3. The airline hopes to use Hong Kong as a transit hub for flights from the mainland and Europe down to the tropical archipelago. Hongkongers wishing to indulge in Fiji's deepsea fishing and scuba diving currently have to stop off in Australia. A Boeing 767 aircraft will be used on the new service.
