Treat your taste buds

If you think science is boring, think again. Hong Kong Science Museum is hosting its most 'delicious' exhibition to date - Candy Unwrapped.

You can experience the science behind your favourite guilty pleasure through this interactive, educational exhibition, which runs until November 28.

Inside the exhibition hall, you will find 17 interactive stations. Sweet Feelings has quotes from celebrities who succumbed to the sugary bliss. The most challenging station is Pucker Up!, where you eat super-sour sweets while a camera records your reaction.

Ryan Shu, eight, who bravely attempted this feat, described it as similar to 'sucking 100 lemons all at once' after picking himself up from where he jokingly collapsed on the floor.

Chocolate has been around for thousands of years, and at A Bar is Born and Romancing the Bean, you can discover the history and other interesting facts about this much-loved snack.

The Extreme station displays the hottest, coldest and most unpleasant of all sweets, while other exhibits include jumping on a giant tongue at Taste Bud Tango, and trekking across a giant sugar crystal and discovering traditional sweets from around the globe at It's a Tasty World.

The museum is open from 1pm to 9pm every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and from 10am to 9pm on weekends and public holidays. Standard tickets cost HK$35, with a 50 per cent reduction for full-time students, the disabled and senior citizens. For more information, visit http://hk.science.museum/.
