Top young players from the Hong Kong Coerver Coaching Soccer Academy are looking forward to improving their skills alongside Japanese professionals next month.

They will train with J-League players for a week before taking part in a junior tournament, which starts on August 15.

The academy has been taking players to Japan for summer training for several years. Mathew Kwong Tsz-hin, 12, is one of the players heading to Japan. 'It's my second visit to Japan and I am really looking forward to the trip,' he said.

The Link Junior Soccer League 2009, organised by the academy and sponsored the Link Reit - a real estate investment company - was held from March to June and included more than 200 matches. Its prize presentation ceremony was held on July 5 in Lok Fu.

The league aims to boost the participants' all-around physical development and team spirit, and help them develop a strong character in order to tackle future challenges.
