Inmate caught smuggling heroin A remand inmate was found yesterday to have smuggled six tablets believed to be heroin into Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre. The 33-year-old man, charged with drug trafficking, was put under observation after guards were tipped off that he might have swallowed drugs before his admission to the centre on Wednesday. Tip-off leads to ketamine seizure A tip-off led police to arrest four men aged 18 and 19 and seize HK$11,000 worth of suspected ketamine from a car in the car park of Lower Wong Tai Sin Estate, Wong Tai Sin, shortly after 12am. Five injured as train hits teen An 18-year-old woman was hit by a Light Rail train in Tin Shui Road, Tin Shui Wai, at about 1.45pm. Four passengers were injured when the vehicle braked heavily. The five were treated at Tuen Mun Hospital for minor injuries. Woman treated after MTR fall A 62-year-old woman fell down an escalator at Prince Edward MTR station when accidentally bumped by a boy at about 12.15pm. She felt dizzy and was treated at Kwong Wah Hospital. Burning truck blocks road A section of the Kowloon-bound lane of Tai Po Road near Villa Carlton in Cheung Sha Wan was closed for about 90 minutes after a truck burst into flames at about 6.10am. Firemen doused the flames, and no one was injured. Youth robbed of mobile phone A 17-year-old boy was assaulted and robbed of a mobile phone worth about HK$600 in Smithfield Road, Western, at about 6.30am. He was treated for minor injuries at Queen Mary Hospital. A 1.8-metre-tall man thought to be aged about 19 is being sought by police. He was wearing a grey shirt and sports shoes at the time of the attack.
