With an incredible storyline, and amazing visual and sound effects, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs is one of the funniest movies of the year.
The crazy but lovable sloth, Sid, finds three dinosaur eggs and, influenced by his mammoth friends Manny and Ellie, who are expecting a baby, decides to raise the babies when they're born. The next day, the eggs hatch and reveal three baby Tyrannosaurus. The scene is set for hilarity.
And the laughs flow like a prehistoric river as one funny scene follows another. At one point Sid, a strict vegetarian, tries to foist broccoli on his brood, but Mama dino has other ideas. In another, the Indiana Jones-like weasel Buck manages to get the upper hand in his battle against the biggest dinosaur of them all.
Manny is going through all sorts of pre-parental angst, making great nursery toys, and sounding the alarm whenever he thinks the baby might arrive.
The film is filled with the kind of slapstick asides that we've come to expect of this series, but are still pretty darn funny.
The dysfunctional possum siblings Crash and Eddie have a bigger role this time and will have you falling off your chair.
