Director jailed for offering bribes

The director of an interior design company was sentenced to a year in jail for offering HK$100,000 in bribes to an employee of a property management firm to connive on unauthorised building works at Marina Cove. Law Woon-tong, 35, of MIB Interiors Design, was found guilty in Kwun Tong Court of two counts of offering an advantage to an agent. Magistrate Abu Bakar bin Wahab said that in view of the seriousness of the offences, a prison term had to be given as a deterrent.
