More than 100 teenage girls are providing sex to men for money in what is known as compensated dating, a police investigator says.
He said the situation was getting worse and that officers had identified at least 15 websites linked to compensated dating, a disguised form of prostitution. 'Ten to 30 advertisements to promote such services are found on each website.'
Some girls involved in compensated dating, or their agents, remove adverts from one website and post them on another in an attempt to avoid detection.
The adverts typically include the measurements, age and brief description of the girl. They also list the costs of services, which can include sex, and e-mail addresses.
The officer said most girls were jobless and aged between 16 and 18. But some were younger and still at school. 'The youngest compensated-dating girl police have discovered was 13.'
He said there was no indication that a syndicate was at work.
