Not everyone wants a touch screen smart phone. If you happen to be looking for a nice, sleek mobile phone that will fit nicely in your pocket or bag that doesn't look like a computer crammed inside a handset package, then Nokia's classic series might just be what you need.
The latest, the 6700 Classic, is a blast from the past with its smooth silver and black exterior and thin long lines accentuating its elegant design. But there are plenty of non-classic features that come with the 6700. For example, it has a 2.2-inch, 16.7 million-colour display, a more than acceptable 5megapixel camera with autofocus, and downright fast data support with 10Mbps downloads off its HSPA platform.
There's also 150 MB of internal memory, expandable via a micro-SDHC card slot for storing your photos and music, complete with software for editing photos on the phone or managing your music library.
One of the cool new features is the use of a mini-USB slot for charging and for connecting to your PC. Instead of relying on a dedicated power cord for when you travel, you can simply take the same cable that connects your digital camera to your PC and use it to charge your phone. The phone also offers quad-band GSM and tri-band 3G support, and comes with basic applications such as e-mail, Web browsing and instant messaging. It costs HK$2,898. Pros: sleek, elegant design, high speed 3G data support, 5megapixel camera, music player Cons: it's not a smart phone
