Edwin Lee, 25, was getting ready for bed when he found out a photo he'd taken had won first prize in the 'Portraiture - Culture' category of PX3, a prestigious European photography competition.
'I totally forgot I'd even entered it because I didn't really expect much. I'd never won a photography award before.'
Lee first discovered a passion for the 'visual medium' as a teenager.
'When I was about 14, I was deeply moved by a black and white photo called The Kiss NYC. It's a self-explanatory picture: a couple kisses in New York City,' Lee explains.
'It was framed from a low angle with a blurred passer-by in the background gawking at the couple. It's as simple as it is moving.'
