The first admission stage will be delayed if a typhoon No 8 or black rainstorm signal is in force at 5am today.
If the signals are cancelled by 11am, schools may begin admission procedures at 2pm.
If warning signals are still in place at 11am, all admission procedures will be delayed till tomorrow morning.
A government spokesman urged students and parents to stay at home if warning signals were in force, as places could not be secured on a first-come-first-served basis.
