Five injured in pile-up
A one-year-old boy was among five people, including three drivers, injured in a five-vehicle pile-up on Ap Lei Chau Bridge at about 9am yesterday. The accident involved a double-decker, a goods van, two cars and a taxi - all bound for Ap Lei Chau. Police said that while the bus was overtaking the van, it hit a car, causing a chain collision. The injured were treated at Queen Mary Hospital and discharged.
Man, 77, detained after stabbing
A resident at a Tuen Mun home for the elderly was arrested after stabbing a worker in the back at about 11am. Police said the 77-year-old man and the female worker, 52, quarrelled after the resident was refused permission to buy wine. The woman was treated at Tuen Mun Hospital and discharged.
Couple arrested in drugs swoop
A 20-year-old woman and 23-year-old man were arrested and drugs worth HK$37,000 seized in a police raid on a flat in Lockhart Road, Wan Chai at about 1am. Police seized cocaine, marijuana, Ecstasy and Ice and implements to package drugs.
