Police arrested an unemployed man yesterday on suspicion of stealing more than 100 metal water pipes outside vacant flats in the 40-year-old Lower Ngau Tau Kok Estate set for demolition this year. The pipes were worth thousands of dollars, police said. A guard called police at 12.10am after he saw the suspect, 46, carrying pipes. Officers found he had a parked van loaded with more than 100. They also found a trolley, spanner and gloves.
