Long hand

Replacing the HDR-CX12 model released last year, Sony's high-definition Handycam HDR-CX500 (right) has 32 gigabytes of internal memory, which can store up to two hours and 40 minutes of high-definition film. For longer recording, it supports the 32GB Memory Stick Pro-HG Duo HX, as external data storage. The camcorder, with a three-inch display, can take 12-megapixel still photos. On dual-recording mode, it shoots video and snaps 8.3 megapixel-equivalent still images. Its steady shot technology cuts blurring caused by a sudden wrist movement, or when trying to shoot fast-moving subjects.

Available from the end of this month, the HDR-CX500 will set you back HK$8,980.
