Political commentator Bill Maher manages to ruffle a few feathers in the world of religion with his satirical documentary Religulous. For atheists and agnostics, the movie will justify their views on the topic of religion while giving them a few good laughs.
On the other hand, Religulous could upset people who have strong religious beliefs.
Though Christianity comes under heavy scrutiny, Maher also explores other religions, like Judaism, Islam, Mormonism and Scientology.
The documentary takes Maher across America and all over the globe as he discusses theology with intellectuals and religious leaders ranging from Catholic priests in Rome to Muslims in Amsterdam and Jerusalem.
Among the people Maher talks to are a pastor and several truckers at a small parish, a US senator and even a Jesus impersonator at an Orlando, Florida theme park called Holy Land.
Maher's fundamental quest is to get some straight answers from each religion.
