A year after the biggest sporting event in China's history, its second-largest state-owned news agency is reminiscing with a touring photo exhibition of the Olympic Games. Inaugurated in Beijing and co-presented by Fancl, the IFC Mall is the second stop. From more than 40,000 images from 16 Chinese media outlets across the world, China News Service (CNS) picked just over 100 for the display, which opened on Thursday.
'At first, we just co-published a limited-edition and not-for-sale photo book with CNS,' said Jubey Chong Lai-yuk, Fancl's public relations manager (pictured). 'But then, we thought it was a pity that only a small number of individuals would have the opportunity to own such a book and to see these amazing pictures, so we developed the idea of an exhibition.' There are short videos on former International Olympic Committee president Juan Antonio Samaranch and Chinese heroes such as shooter Yang Ling, weightlifter Liao Hui and swimmer Qian Hong. The display continues at IFC Mall until Thursday, then moves to Sha Tin's New Town Plaza from Friday to September 6, Kowloon Bay's Telford Plaza from September 7 to 13 and Harbour City from September 14 to 23.
