JUST one in eight Hong Kong people believe the PWC is acting in their interests, a survey has found.
The poll, conducted by the Hong Kong in Transition Project, found 12 per cent of respondents trusted the PWC when asked to make a choice between it and the Legislative Council.
Forty per cent of respondents preferred the law-making body, while another 15 per cent said neither would protect their interests.
Another 38 per cent said ''no'' when asked whether the PWC was a legitimate body to decide how to implement the Basic Law.
The low degree of trust in the PWC was accompanied by a consistently low level of support for the Chinese Government - a result similar to findings last year.
Conducted between January 26 and February 1, the survey interviewed 636 people by telephone.
