There are many all-in-one desktop PCs on the market, but not many that look like this model from German company, Medion. The Medion X9613 features a large LCD connected to a compact unit encasing the core CPN components.
What makes this model different is its design, which is intended for the living room rather than the workroom. In addition to the sleek black finish, the X9613 features a huge 24-inch multi-touch display, which not only removes the need to hook up messy keyboards or a computer mouse, but also lets you interact with your PC like you can with Apple's iPod.
It also features a second, smaller display in the centre of the base that serves as a second 'SideShow' display for Windows 7, and a big volume knob on one side of the front panel. The result is a look and feel that's more like a high-end stereo system rather than your typical desktop PC.
So far, technical details of the X9613 are scarce, but the company has revealed that inside the X9613 is an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9000 processor running at 2GHz, an NVidia GeForce GT240M dedicated graphics card, 4GB of RAM and a Blu-ray drive.
A suitably large hard disk drive for storing music and movies, and other essentials like wireless networking, will likely be included.
Currently, the X9613 is sold only in Europe with prices starting at HK$16,500, but look for it at your nearest computer mall soon.
