Starwood's first resort on the mainland, the 511-room Sheraton Sanya Resort, has brightened up the island of Hainan with its contemporary designs. Situated in the heart of Yalong Bay, it is designed with extensive landscaping and a 300-metre stretch of private white-sand beach.

Since inception, the property has catered for meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions and is a modern and stylish venue for conferences, exhibitions, board meetings, sales meetings, training and product launches. Moreover, it has hosted international events such as the Miss World beauty contest from 2003-2005.

The 1,250 square metres Seven Seas Ballroom boasts a ceiling with a height of 10 metres and holding a capacity of more than 1,400 people. The nearby gardens and pre-function areas cater for pre-dinner cocktails or breakout space. Flexibility is another advantage because complementing the ballroom are 11 additional meeting rooms, ranging from 22 square metres to 150 square metres, with the capability to accommodate groups of different sizes.

The resort keeps abreast of the latest technology by offering advanced audio-visual equipment and Wi-fi service from the lobby lounge through the meeting areas to the gardens and the beach.

To ensure personalised service, the resort has set up a team of meetings and incentives specialists committed to providing a product and service to ensure guests of memorable meetings.

The hotel has come up with a mixture of theme events to woo guests. The 'Garden of Eden' is a night that is sure to excite the senses. As you enter the garden through an archway of foliage and a bed of flower petals, you will be taken back by the stunning sights within - walls draped with floral vines, bouquets suspended from the ceiling and a special table centerpiece with the freshest tropical fruits. Tables are dressed with crisp white linen and chairs wrapped with garden leaves and flowers.
