The InterContinental Shenzhen has brought luxury hospitality services to Shenzhen since 2006. The eight-storey building remains the venue of choice for meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions events. The hotel is ideal for large-scale events and features 2,800 square metres of meeting facilities, 540 guest rooms and eight restaurants and bars. According to director of sales and marketing Cynthia Lim, providing thoughtful service is key. 'We think for the customers and like to propose more options using our creativity. This is to help the event organisers operate more efficiently,' she said. 'Moreover, our one-stop-shop service eases the organisation. We also have incentive and loyalty programmes.' The hotel's grand ballroom measures 1,560 square metres and seats up to 1,200 guests. Spectacular events such as automobile launches make good use of its customised ramp access whereas advanced audio visual and intelligent lighting systems help enhance the visual impact of events. Seven smaller event rooms and a landscaped poolside with beach sand are available to serve different needs. The hotel is also the country's first luxury hotel designed with a Spanish theme and the first full-service wedding boutique offering everything from floral arrangements to gown selections and a chapel-styled service. Menus can be customised in a la carte fashion or a menu theme may be selected in consultation with chefs. The 3,000-square-metre OCT Art and Design Gallery features talent from all around the world.
