Ever wonder what the world would look like if you were a fish? With a Jackar lens called - you guessed it - a fisheye, it's easy to find out. Fisheye lenses are basically super-wide angle lenses which take 'hemi-spherical' shots - that is, they take a photo that's a half-circle view of the world. The resulting image is distorted and can be used to show the curve of the earth. While fisheye lens are not new, what's really cool about the Jackar Mini Fisheye lens is that it works with just about any digital camera, including compact models that don't usually let you add a new lens. The neat trick is that, instead of relying on the camera's lens mount, which few digital cameras have, Jackar has designed an adapter system that uses the tripod mount something all models come with. The adapter fits on the camera and creates its own lens mount on top of the camera's lens so you can attach the Mini Fisheye. In fact, any 37mm diameter format lens will fit with the adapter, so you can now add zoom lens to your compact digital camera as well. The Jackar Fisheye lens kit comes with the adapter, the fisheye lens and a macro filter for close-up photos, all for the the relatively low price of HK$580. Pros: fish eye view of the world - 180-degree shooting, works on compact digital cameras Cons: your nose will look much bigger in photos and buildings will lean towards each other Got a gadget you'd like us to feature?
