Surprisingly worthwhile tunes

Alvin Yuen

The third soundtrack from Disney's Hannah Montana TV show features 14 songs from the programme, and includes duets with American Idol runner-up David Archuleta and High School Musical star Corbin Bleu.

Although Hannah Montana's target audience are of a very specific demographic - pre-teen girls - the songs are surprisingly catchy and pleasantly addictive, whatever your usual musical taste.

Every Part of Me is a soulful song about finding out who you really are. The Ice Cream Freeze is a fun country-pop number in the same vein as Hoedown Throwdown, from Hannah Montana: The Movie, and like that song, it also features a choreographed dance routine.

The lyrics are nothing special, but combined with the memorable tunes and Miley Cyrus' vocals, you'll find it hard to resist pulling out the lyrics sheet and singing along.

While many adults and guys may cringe at the mere mention of Hannah's name, there is a reason she's so popular - the girl knows how to sell a tune.

Even if you're not a fan of the TV show, or don't usually enjoy commercial country or pop music, give this a try. This album will make it clear to almost anyone why Hannah Montana is such a phenomenon.
