SCMP Reporter

1. Human Nature - Michael Jackson 
This track always gives me goose bumps because of its incredible combination of the chord progression, that arpeggiated synth line and MJ's falsetto adlib in the intro. 
2. You Gotta Be - Des'ree 
That wooden-sounding piano intro 1is just perfect.  A catchy chorus and the  message of hope have always made me smile.   
3. Money - George Duke 
I wish I could play half as well as George Duke.  
4. Everyday - Incognito 
One of my favourite groups. I used this song as inspiration  for a piece I wrote/arranged/co-produced for Eason Chan  [Yik-shun]'s Car & Driver - probably my proudest moment  as a songwriter.   
5. True - Spandau Ballet 
A great example of a song in which the intro/arrangement is better known than the melody. Pure music magic.
